We are welcoming and caring congregation of wide ranging ages, from very young children and families all the way through to 90 + year olds. Although we are situated in Sherwood many of our congregation travel from neighbouring suburbs. We are a culturally and socially diverse community and we value strong relationships with each other. Church Council

The Church Council provides a Spiritual leadership role for the congregation as well as operating as a kind of ‘board of management’ for the church.

The Council is made up of  members (elected and/or co-opted) plus the Ministry team. It gives priority in its life to building up the Congregation in Faith and Love, sustaining its members in Hope, and leading the Congregation to a fuller participation in Christ’s mission in the world. This is reflected in the agenda of its ordinary meetings.

The Church Council has appointed the following Task groups which report to the Church Council and the Congregation on a regular basis:

  • Worship and Education
  • Community Connections
  • Youth and Children
  • Finance and Administration
  • Pastoral Care

Chapel Gardens Retirement Village

Chapel Gardens is a significant ministry in the life of our Congregation, offering Independent Living Unties in the heart of Sherwood. The residents have become a friendly and caring community offering support to one another and reflecting the values of the Sherwood Congregation. The Units are located in the grounds of the original Presbyterian Church, which acts today as a Chapel and Community Centre. More…
