Priority One

Not currently active at Sherwood UC. Priority One (P1) is a group specially designed to help young people in their transition from primary to secondary school. This transition is a significant time in a young person’s life as they experience major developments in their physical, moral, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual life. Priority One seeks to equip and care for young people during these changes.

The weekly programmes include games, activities for religious and social development and supper. Some programmes are conducted within the hall and others outside it. Our volunteer leaders are competently trained and equipped to care for and support your children. You are welcome to observe or help with any of our programmes and we request that one parent be available for one night each year to assist generally with organisation and to help prepare supper. If you have a special interest or skill that you might consider sharing with the children in this group, would you please let us know.

As a Christian organisation we encourage P1’ers to give attention to the development of their spirituality.

During the year, there will be opportunities for members with their parents to join us for worship at Sherwood Uniting for the morning service or for special youth services.

How do you join?

P1 is not being offered at Sherwood in 2018. A P1 group is being offered at Oxley Uniting Church.

Due to the availability of leaders and resources, it has been found necessary to limit enrollments to a group of about 30 children.
